Icon – Penang 2

Starbucks Icon – Penang v2 is the second State mug released for Malaysia recently. This makes it the 446th mug in the Icon collection!
Penang is located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It actually consists of two parts: Penang Island and Seberang Perai on the Malay Peninsula. These two are divided by the waters of the Malacca Strait and linked by two bridges. George Town is the capital of the state, located on Penang Island.
The Penang is considered an architectural gem of Malaysia. Its architecture represents the 171 years of British presence on the island, mixed with local, Chinese, Indian, Islamic, and other elements to create a unique and distinctive brand. And that’s what we see on the front of the mug – a street with old, historical buildings.
