You Are Here – Belgrade

You probably remember my review of the You Are Here – Београд mug, the only mug in the series to use a Cyrillic city name. I assumed this was because both the Cyrillic and Latin alphabets are officially recognized and widely used in Serbia. That is why I was excited to discover the pictures of this You Are Here Belgrade mug. It means that Starbucks may also have considered releasing a version featuring the city’s Latin spelling. It is entirely possible that this variation was produced in very limited quantities, as I have never encountered another example apart from this eBay listing.… Read more

You Are Here – Bodø

Bodø is a city unlike any other. Located just north of the Arctic Circle, it is home to the world’s northernmost Starbucks store, making this You Are Here Bodø mug a particularly special release for collectors. Surrounded by dramatic fjords, rugged mountains, and some of Norway’s most spectacular natural scenery, Bodø serves as a gateway to the Arctic. The design celebrates the city’s unique location and highlights the natural phenomena and landmarks that make this corner of northern Norway so remarkable.… Read more

You Are Here – Leipzig (Prototype)

You may remember the post I shared earlier this month about an ultra-rare, never-released mug from Korea. At the time, I mentioned that the private collection being offered for sale included several mugs that appear to be pre-production samples created before the final designs went into manufacturing. One piece that particularly caught my attention is this You Are Here Leipzig (prototype) mug, which was recently sold on eBay.

What makes this mug fascinating is that it appears to be an early production sample featuring a different colour palette and a few subtle design variations compared to the version that was ultimately released in stores.… Read more

You Are Here – Seoul

Here is the You Are Here Seoul mug. Wait, what? How is this possible?

If you’ve been following the You Are Here series, you probably know that Starbucks never officially released any mugs for South Korea as part of the YAH collection. Instead, South Korea received its own beautiful series called the Korea Real City collection, featuring both full-size mugs and mini demis.

Well, that is still true because the mug you are seeing here was never officially sold in stores.… Read more

You Are Here – Fredrikstad

This is both exciting and exhausting news for collectors hoping to complete their You Are Here collection, as Starbucks has recently released two new mugs from Norway. The first is the You Are Here Fredrikstad mug, featured here. Stay tuned for a review of the second release.

Fredrikstad is one of Norway’s most charming coastal cities, located at the mouth of the Glomma River where it meets the Skagerrak. Founded in 1567 by King Frederick II after the nearby town of Sarpsborg was destroyed during war, Fredrikstad is best known for its remarkably preserved fortified old town, waterfront scenery, and easy access to the islands of the Oslofjord.… Read more

You Are Here – Firenze

Similar to other Italian cities, an existing mug gets an update in the form of You Are Here Firenze, with the only change being the name written in Italian, rather than English. I think this is the last one to be revised, as all the other cities have either been updated or were originally released with their Italian names. The only exception, however, might be Veròna, which could be written in the Venetian language.

Firenze was founded by the Romans in 59 BC as Florentia, meaning “flourishing” or “prosperous.” The city grew into a major medieval center of trade, banking, and art, eventually becoming the birthplace of the Renaissance in the 14th and 15th centuries under the influence of powerful families such as the Medici.… Read more

You Are Here – Torino

Thanks to a comment from one of our readers on the Turin mug post, we now know that Starbucks has released an updated version of the mug featuring the city’s Italian name. You can compare the two mugs side by side using the images below. It appears that You Are Here Torino includes no changes other than the updated title.

Torino has been an important city in northern Italy for centuries, starting as a Roman military camp and later becoming the capital of the Duchy of Savoy.… Read more

You Are Here – Italia

Thanks to a blog reader, I was finally able to acquire good photos of the newly released You Are Here Italia mug. It is essentially an exact copy of the mug released seven years ago, with the only difference being the use of the country’s name in Italian: Italia instead of Italy.

I didn’t do the full review of the mug back in 2018, so let’s do it now.

The Colosseum in Rome is one of the most iconic landmarks of Italy and a symbol of its ancient history.… Read more

You Are Here – Milano

Thanks to a heads-up from our reader, it came to our attention that in line with the update to the country mug that adopted the Italian name, Starbucks also introduced the You Are Here Milano mug, featuring the city’s name in its native language. The design of this release is identical to the Milan mug; you can see this for yourself by comparing it with the pictures of the original mug from this post. You probably remember, this also happened to the Roma mug, and I am sure there will be other cities to follow.… Read more

You Are Here – Košice

You Are Here – Košice is a mug for a city with deep historical roots, a cultural and economic hub of eastern Slovakia. First mentioned in records from 1230, Košice quickly grew into a prominent medieval town, becoming the first European city to be granted its own coat of arms in 1369. Strategically located along important trade routes, it flourished as a center of commerce, craftsmanship, and governance within the Kingdom of Hungary. Over the centuries, Košice experienced periods of prosperity and hardship under various empires, including Ottoman incursions and Habsburg rule.… Read more
