Been There – Gifu is a mug for a city located in central Japan. It boasts a rich history that dates back over 1,000 years. Often prepared along the Nagara River, where the ayu is caught, this dish captures the fresh, delicate flavor of the fish. It’s typically served during the summer months, but it remains a beloved symbol of Gifu’s culinary heritage.
