Been There – Mariner of the Seas is the tenth and the last mug from the “Royal Caribbean” mini series from Starbucks.

The Mariner of the Seas, a second-generation Voyager-class cruise ship, entered service in November 2003 after being constructed by Kværner Masa-Yards in Finland. Its maiden voyage began on November 16, 2003. In early 2018, the ship underwent a major refit costing around US$120 million. Mariner stretches 1,020 feet in length, spans up to 161 feet at its widest point, and drafts approximately 28 feet. It carries around 3,100 to over 4,200 passengers (depending on configuration) and has a crew of about 1,200.

Mariner regularly sails Western Caribbean routes from Galveston, Texas, offering 4- to 5-night round-trip cruises that often include stops in Cozumel and Costa Maya.

Main On-Board Attractions of the Mariner of the Seas:

Royal Promenade & Shopping
A vibrant, four-deck-high indoor avenue, the Royal Promenade offers boutiques, bars, casual cafés, and musical entertainment. It’s perfect for strolling, people-watching, or grabbing a quick bite without leaving the ship’s core. The design keeps this bustling heart of the vessel active day and night.

Savoy Theatre (Main Theatre)
This grand venue hosts Broadway-style shows, musical revues, and theatrical performances. The opulent stage and seating cater to large audiences, delivering polished entertainment nightly. It’s a centrepiece for evening activities on board.

Studio B – Ice-Skating Arena
Studio B transforms from a skating rink to a performance space. Guests can ice-skate during the day or catch dazzling ice shows at night. The versatility makes it a standout feature compared to most cruise ships.

Sky Pad & Laser Tag: Modern Fun
For a thrill, the Sky Pad offers a virtual-reality trampoline experience, while the black-light Laser Tag arena “Battle for Planet Z” fills evenings with high-energy fun. Both attractions are favourites among younger guests and active travellers. They add a futuristic touch to the ship’s entertainment mix.

Vitality Spa & Fitness Zone
Recharge with a visit to the Vitality Spa for massages or facials, or stay active in the fitness center, outdoor running track, mini-golf, rock-climbing wall, or basketball court. Whether relaxation or adrenaline is your goal, this area has something for everyone. Wellness meets recreation here in equal measure.

Dining Highlights
Enjoy complimentary continental fare in the Main Dining Room, or splurge on specialty venues like the upscale Italian Portofino and the steakhouse Chops Grille. Casual spots like the Windjammer buffet keep things flexible for all-day dining. Every taste is accounted for, from fine dining to quick snacks.
