Been There – Baguio
Starbucks Been There – Baguio is a fresh release from Philippines. The City of Baguio is a mountain city in Northern Luzon. Due to the elevation of 4,810 ft above sea level and its cool climate, it is considered the Summer Capital of the Philippines.
Here are some points of interest and symbols spotted on the mug, thanks to a Facebook user:
– Sunflower (1) is considered a symbol of the city.
– The Lions Head is a statue (2) along Kennon Road that leads to the city.
– Burnham Park (3) – was designed by American architect and Baguio city planner, Daniel Burnham
– Mines View Park (4) overlooks the mining town of Itogon, particularly the abandoned gold and copper mines.
– Panagbenga Festival (5) – is a month-long flower-themed festival held in February. The name can be translated as “season of blooming”.
– Kenon Road (6) – is a scenic road between Baguio and Rosario thanks to white-capped mountains, tall pine trees, waterfalls amidst the trees and rocks. It is considered dangerous during the rainy season due to landslides, keep this in mind.
– Ifugao Feather Headdress (7) and Ifugao Necklace (8) – are parts of the traditional Ifugao Costume. It is worn by Igorot people
