Been There – Guadalajara
Starbucks Been There – Guadalajara is a mug for the second-largest metropolitan area in Mexico. The city is an important center of business, finance, technology, science, culture, and education in the country.
Guadalajara is considered to be the home of Mariachi which is a well-known genre of Regional Mexican music. The usual mariachi group consists of as many as eight violins, two trumpets and at least one guitar, including a high-pitched vihuela and an acoustic bass guitar, called a guitarrón. You can see four Mariachi men on the front of the mug.
These are two architectural points of interest from the city that I was able to identify:
– Arcos de Guadalajara (The Arches of Guadalajara) is a landmark that represents the entrance to the city (it was built in 1938).
– The Hospicio (Museo) Cabañas is one of the oldest and largest hospital complexes in the Americas. It was founded in 1791 and made a Unesco World Heritage site in 1997.
Please note, that this mug was released two years ago, in 2018, and is widely available in stores.
