Been There – Wellington
I have no good real pictures of Starbucks Been There – Wellington yet, but it is out in stores. This mug completes the New Zealand BT team of four.
Wellington is the capital and second-most populous city in New Zealand. Thanks to the location on the hills surrounding the harbor, Wellington seems to be a nice place to live or at least visit. You should definitely stroll along the waterfront, relax at Oriental Bay, Wellington’s golden-sand inner-city beach and probably hop into one of the numerous restaurants in that area. It seems that a cup of local coffee and craft beer is something worth trying. There are many museums, art galleries, and theatre shows worth visiting when in the city center. If you prefer to spend the time outdoors, you can try mountain biking and hiking and sea-water kayaking. Scenic views make these activities especially pleasant.
– Wellington Cable Car will bring you up the hill to Kelburn, where you can enjoy ice cream and amazing views over the city.
– The building on the front of the mug is the Beehive which is the common name for the Executive Wing of the New Zealand Parliament Buildings. It resembles a bee skep, hence the nickname.
– The fern branch refers to the Fern garden which is a part of the Wellington Botanic Gardens. It is worth mentioning that New Zealand is home to nearly 200 species of native ferns.
