Starbucks consistently mentioned this county from the Los Angeles metropolitan area in its series of merchandise: here’s a mug from YAH and another one from Icons. It was skipped for the Been There Collection, but now makes a return in the form of Discovery Series Orange County.

Orange County’s story began in 1889, when it was officially separated from Los Angeles County. The name originated from the vast orange groves that once dominated the landscape, with citrus farming being the region’s primary economic driver in its early years. The area’s transformation from an agricultural heartland to a modern suburban paradise was catalyzed by the 1955 opening of Disneyland, which marked the beginning of a new era of tourism and development.

Apart from the Disneyland Resort, there are other things to do in Orange County. In fact, its 42 miles of coastline offer many beach-related activities. Here, you can enjoy world-class surfing at Huntington Beach. Crystal Cove State Park provides pristine beaches perfect for swimming, tidepooling, and scenic walks along coastal bluffs. The Newport Beach pier area bustles with activity, from sport fishing to luxury shopping and waterfront dining.
