Starbucks You Are Here РMontpellier might be one of the last mugs from the YAH collection. Montpellier is a city in southern France close to the Mediterranean Sea. This location made it an important municipality of the Crown of Aragon in the 13th century. Montpellier is home to one of the oldest universities in the world РUniversit̩ de Montpellier, which was established in 1220.
The front of the mug showcases La Fontaine des Trois Graces (The Three Graces Fountain) from La Place de la Comédie. It was built in 1790 by Étienne d’Antoine. We can also see Saint Clément aqueduct (a.k.a Arceaux aqueduct) that used to supply the city with water. Further to the left, there is the Porte du Peyrou, a triumphal arch located next to the Jardin de Peyrou, a park from the center of the city.
The back of the mug shows the bottle of wine, grapevines, and olives trees. These remind us of the wine heritage of the Languedoc region. Wine tours are definitely something to try when exploring Montpellier and its surroundings.
