You Are Here – Nantong
This is a new release from China, Starbucks You Are Here – Nantong mug.
Nantong is a city in Jiangsu province. It is located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, near the river mouth. It was and remains an important port due to deep waters and canals. Interesting to note, that Nantong is getting further from the seashore year by year, due to the silt added by the Yangtze River to its delta.
– The front of the mug is occupied by the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge which connects Nantong and Changshu. It was considered the cable-stayed bridge with the longest main span in the world between 2008-2012. Its pillars are 1,004 ft high and still the third tallest in the world.
– Shuihui Garden can be seen on the back. Shuihui means “clear water” which makes sense because the water is all around the garden making it a nice place to take your time and relax.
– Another element from the mug is an 85ft high Bell-tower, located in Nantong Horticultural Expo Park. The park offers a nice view of the Yangtze River, so it might be the place to consider visiting while in this area.
