You Are Here Ornament – Baku
After months of waiting, I finally got my hands on the new Starbucks You Are Here Ornament – Baku. This latest release could very well be the final addition to the beloved series, making it even more special for collectors.
I very much like the design of this new ornament. It uses a beautiful mix of light blue, pink, and green colors that feel both fresh and nostalgic. The ornament is a miniature replica of the full-sized Baku mug I reviewed previously, keeping the same iconic imagery that defines the city:
– The Fire Temple, or Ateshgah, stands proudly on the outskirts, capturing Baku’s ancient connection to fire worship. Its simple but bold depiction gives a nod to the spiritual and historical roots of the city.
– The Baku Fortress Wall – a strong line of stone wraps part of the ornament’s middle, symbolizing the old fortress walls that once protected the city. It’s a reminder of Baku’s resilience and its rich, layered past.
– The famous Flame Towers rise sharply in the design, their sweeping shapes unmistakable. They represent Baku’s leap into modernity, where tradition and innovation coexist.
– Soft waves in blue and green hint at the Caspian Sea, whose shores embrace Baku. The sea brings both beauty and life to the city, and its presence anchors the design with a sense of calm and continuity.
For fans of the “You Are Here” series and for anyone who loves Baku, this ornament is a must-have. If it really is the last release, it’s a fitting, beautiful finale.
