You Are Here – Paris 2024 Summer Olympics
Starbucks You Are Here – Paris 2024 Summer Olympics mug is unique in a sense that it is dedicated to an event and not a place. As you probably know, France is welcoming the Olympic Games this year. The 2024 Summer Olympics will be primarily centered in Paris, with additional events taking place in 16 other cities across metropolitan France, as well as one subsite in Tahitian island within the French overseas country and overseas collectivity of French Polynesia. Does it mean that Starbucks could potentially release more 2024 Olympics mugs? Time will show.
It is worth mentioning that the box for the new release features a custom color, not previously used for the You Are Here series mugs. It bears some resemblance to the Disney boxes, although in a darker shade.
Another intriguing detail is the use of both silver and gold colors to outline the mug’s design elements. While we typically see either color in Christmas mugs, this release marks the first time they are used together. On a similar note, and thanks to an observation made by one of my readers, there are, in fact, three colors in the mug’s design: gold, silver, and bronze. Obviously, these are symbolizing the Olympic medals. I love this subtle feature of the new mug.
Some of the iconic locations that will host events include the Stade de France which will host the athletics competition and closing ceremony, while the Jardins du Trocadéro and the Seine will be the venues for the opening ceremony. Other iconic locations include the Champ de Mars and Eiffel Tower for beach volleyball, the Palace of Versailles for equestrian events, and Roland Garros for tennis and boxing. The Olympic Village and Media Village will be located in Seine-Saint-Denis.
The Paris 2024 Olympics aim to be the most sustainable Games ever, with a focus on sport, inclusivity, and environmental excellence
