You Are Here – Siem Reap
Cambodia scores again! New YAH from this Southeast Asian country just hit the stores. Please meet You Are Here Siem Reap mug.
Siem Reap is a popular tourist destination in northwestern Cambodia. It has a large number of hotels, restaurants, and resorts, mostly because of it being close to the Angkor temples, the most popular tourist attraction in Cambodia. Angkor was the capital city of the Khmer Empire. It was in a heyday between the 9th to 15th centuries. At that time it was considered a megacity. It became abandoned when its population migrated south to Longvek. Sure enough, this attraction was placed on the front of the mug.
Another point of interest is located on the back – Pub Street – officially Street 8, is the restaurant and nightlife center of Siem Reap. Although it has controversial reviews from tourists, I still believe this is the place to visit when in town. An interesting detail here, and correct me if I’m wrong, it is the first time I’ve seen words placed on the mug other than the name of the city or country. I guess Starbucks made it to ensure we know what street is in that – see this pic:
