Starbucks You Are Here – Xi’an – is one of 23 Chinese mugs released in September 2017.
Xi’an is the capital of Shaanxi Province located in Northwest China. The two Chinese characters “西安” in the name Xi’an mean “Western Peace”. Xi’an is the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals and the starting point of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
– Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures buried with the emperor in 210–209 BCE and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. Since it’s discovery a collection of 120 objects from the mausoleum and 12 terracotta warriors were exhibited around the world numerous times.
