We’ve identified five design elements from the ornament earlier, and it is time to review the rest from the Discovery Series Atlanta mug.

Discovery Series Ornament – Atlanta

Discovery Series Ornament Atlanta is a mini mug from Georgia. Starbucks released it for both the Been There and You Are Here collections, so I was pretty confident that the Discovery Series would get one too.

Starbucks placed these five things associated with Atlanta in the design of the ornament:

Been There – Atlanta 2

Starbucks Been There Atlanta v2 has been released a couple weeks ago, yet I had no pictures of v1 to compare with. Now I do. As you can see from the collage below, the actual misprint was “Chattahoochie river” instead of “Сhattahoochee river”. It still amazes me how bad quality control at Starbucks was, while designing this series.

Starbucks Been There Atlanta mug. I’ve spotted not just one but two radio cassette players on this mug (one on the front and one on the back). There should be some interesting story behind that. Will definitely find that out in my updated post.
Update from 2018-07-09: as it was expected, the delay of the release of this mug was caused by a misprint. See v1 and v2 side by side: it should be “Chattahoochee river” instead of “Сhattahoochie river”.… Read more
