You Are Here – Casablanca

New week, new release from Starbucks. Two new You Are Here mugs – Casablanca and Marrakech. Both from the same country – Morocco.
Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco with the population of over 5 millions. It was initially named Anfa before the Portuguese took the city over and renamed it to CasaBranca (white house in Portuguese). Later when Portugal was the part of Spanish kingdom it was adjusted to Casablanca (spanish version). Even though it was given an Arabic name in 18th century – Ad-dar Al Baidaa’ – many locals still nickname it “Casa”. Interesting enough, no Casablanca Icon available.
