You Are Here – Xiamen

Starbucks You Are Here – Xiamen – is one of 23 Chinese mugs released in September 2017.
Xiamen is a city and port in Southeastern China which originally only consisted of the Xiamen Island, while now it’s covering adjacent areas of mainland. It is located across Taiwan (80-100 miles) and was a British-run treaty port from 1842 to 1912.
On the mug:
– Hulishan Fortress built in 1894. It is located on the south of Xiamen Island at the top of Huli Hill, overlooking the sea. One of it’s cannons, the 280 mm Krupp Cannon, is listed in Guinness World Records Book
– Gulangyu – Gulang Island or Kulangsu is a pedestrian-only island close to Xiamen. Although not that many people live there (about 20k) it is a major touristic destination especially for locals. Please note that bicycles are also banned, same as cars.
