You Are Here – Deyang

This is Starbucks You Are Here – Deyang mug released for the city in Sichuan province, China. While being mostly an industrial city, Deyang is taking extra measures to keep it clean with good air quality.
If old architecture is something you’re interested in, the Ancient City Wall in Guanghan (the city which is the part of Deyang) is probably something worth visiting (can be seen on the front of the mug). It is not as big as the one in Xiangyang but still a wonderful piece of history.
– Golden Mask on the right of the front of the mug refers to relics from an ancient civilization. These were discovered near Sanxingdui village and therefore this name was used for the archaeological site and civilization itself. These findings are very important in terms of studying the Bronze Age culture and that lost civilization. The reasons for its decline remain unknown, except that it happened sometimes between 3,000 and 2,800 years ago.
– Deyang Confucian Temple is the second largest Confucius temple in China. It was built during the reign of the Song Dynasty (907-1227) and went through many renovations since. As it states in the title it served as a ritual site for worship ceremonies dedicated to Confucius, the great Chinese thinker in ancient times.
– It seems that there are some scenic areas with mountains and waterfalls not far from the city, as designers dedicated a large portion of the mug for that.
