The statue of George Washington in the Boston Public Garden is beautiful and he did play a key role in the defense of Boston from siege during the early days of the Revolution. That said, it’s hard to believe that a statue of a Virginian was selected as “the” iconic symbol of Boston for this series. It boggles the mind.
