You Are Here – Norway

If you’re missing YAHs already, here is the small treat – Starbucks You Are Here – Norway mug. As it was planned, this summer will be the Country mugs season. This particular mug has a very vivid design with popping colors: red, blue and white are pretty much the only colors used. We see two Norwegian flags (like one was not enough), mountains, snow and Christmas trees. Add here skis to emphasise skiing being huge in Norway and Oseberg Ship – a well-preserved Viking ship displayed at the Viking Ship Museum at Bygdøy and you are going to get pretty much the full picture of this mug.… Read more

You Are Here Disney – Magic Kingdom 3 Tomorrowland

If you follow my site on the regular basis, you probably remember my post about Starbucks releasing Disney YAHs for each land from each park. While I can’t tell for sure if each land finally gets the mug, but so far we have good reasons to think so. Why? Because, You Are Here Disney Magic Kingdom Tomorrowland mug has been spotted in the Main Street Bakery at the Magic Kingdom today. The new release features:
The (power) palm trees – planted by the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.… Read more

You Are Here – Disneyland 3 Adventureland

I was under impression, that with the release of BT collection Starbucks made it clear, that no new YAH mugs will be released for US. You can call me naive, but I thought I’ve figured it this time! Nope, Starbucks has it’s own way to keep us in shape! Why? Because they have just released Starbucks You Are Here Disneyland Adventureland. Technically this is the third version of the Disneyland mug. It doesn’t actually say “Adventureland” on the mug, but we can see it is dedicated to this particular Land:
– Singing parrots and tree for Enchanted Tiki Room – a pseudo-Polynesian themed musical animatronic show
– Boat for Jungle Cruise – a simulation of a riverboat cruise down several major rivers of Asia, Africa and South America
Not sure about that mountain though.… Read more

You Are Here – Hai Phong

Little bit unexpected, yet pleasant surprise from Vietnam – Starbucks You Are Here Hai Phong mug. Love it’s colors! It almost made me want to collect all five Vietnamese YAHs. Interesting enough, according to Starbucks Vietnam Facebook page, you can only buy this mug at Starbucks Tran Phu, 15A Tran Phu street, Hai Phong city, but I am pretty sure in a month or two it will appear in all major airports of the country.
Hai Phong is a major industrial city and the third largest city in Vietnam.… Read more

You Are Here – Greece

Finally, the anticipated Mediterranean YAH is here! Yes, I am talking about Starbucks You Are Here Greece mug. What do you guys think of it? To be honest with you, I am not impressed at all. It seems like Starbucks is running out of ideas for YAH collection. Similar to recent Germany mug, the new release has very little details. Apart from the sun, mountains (Mount Lycabettus probably) and an olive tree, there are only 3 other elements:
– Temple of Apollo (Ancient Corinth) – built in the 7th century.… Read more

You Are Here – Heidelberg

Yet another YAH from Germany! Is it going to be as big as China? Nonetheless, please meet Starbucks You Are Here Heidelberg mug. This town on the Neckar River is known for the Heidelberg University, founded back in 1386, making it Germany’s oldest university. Only 150k people leave in Heidelberg and half of them are students. Add here numerous tourists looking for historical points of attraction and pleasant views. And that’s what they coming for:
– Studentenkarzer – university jail – yes, you heard it right.… Read more

You Are Here – Germany

We had eleven German cities released prior getting to this one – Starbucks You Are Here Germany mug. Believe it or not, this is the 12th mug from this country.
As for design, this is probably the first time when I can name all elements from the mug easily:
– sun and mountains
– German sausages – there are literally hundreds of different German sausages. Important to note, that sausage names like Bratwurst, Kochwurst, Rohwurst, Brühwurst, Blutwurst or Leberwurst do not represent a particular German sausage, but a sausage type which is made in a particular way.… Read more

You Are Here – Helsinki

Here is the first YAH from Finland – Starbucks You Are Here Helsinki mug.
Did you know Helsinki can be shortened to Hki? This is the capital and the larges city in Finland located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland (Baltic Sea). It was founded in 1550 as the town of Helsingfors and later renamed to Helsinki.
The front of the mug:
Eduskuntatalo (Parliament House) – is the seat of the Parliament of Finland. The building was officially opened on March 7, 1931 and has been the key place of Finland’s political life since.… Read more

You Are Here – Geneva

YAH collection is continuing to expand in Europe with the fresh release of Starbucks You Are Here Geneva mug. The color scheme is pretty interesting. The front of the mug is mostly green.
– there is a red statue I can’t identify (I tried hard, trust me)
– four 15-foot-tall statues of Geneva luminaries on Reformation Wall (Mur de la Réformation)
– running shoes – for Geneva Marathon (The Harmony Geneva Marathon for UNICEF) – is an annual marathon held in May

The rest of the mug is mostly blue and shows:
– beautiful Lake Geneva – it is one of the largest lakes in Western Europe and gives you absolutely stunning views with mountains in the background.… Read more

You Are Here – Da Nang

Even though the quality of the photo is very bad, I am excited to announce the release of You Are Here Da Nang mug. It had been rumored last December, but there was no real photo of it! Today, Starbucks has opened a store in Da Nang and we can see new mugs on the shelf. Let’s wait for better pics in order to identify what design elements were used for the new release.
Update from 02/05/2018: added a better image where we can see:
– a cruise ship (referring to the fact that Da Nang is a popular resort city due it’s beautiful sandy beaches)
– fireworks (DaNang International Fireworks Festival)
Dragon Bridge – a six lanes bridge over the River Hàn opened in 2013
Hàn River Bridge – swing bridge (car traffic has to be stopped for the the bridge to swing and to allow shipping traffic to pass along the river)
It’s the first time I see two bridges depicted on one YAH and this is probably why Da Nang’s nickname is City of Bridges.… Read more
