Been There – South Carolina 2
Unexpectedly, Starbucks made a decision to issue an updated version of the previously released mug. The design of Been There South Carolina v2 shows some rearrangement of the elements and removal of “the rice state” nickname. The latter doesn’t seem to be widely used, so I guess the change makes sense. The Palmetto State, on the other hand, is widely known as the reference to the state tree, the Palmetto. Speaking of which, the v1 had two of these trees in the design, one red and one yellow. The updated mug only shows one – the red one. It is worth mentioning that the palmetto also appears on the official flag of the state (see the back of the mug).
