Discovery Series Disney – Epcot
Starbucks Discovery Series Disney – Epcot mug is out. Like I’ve mentioned in my previous post, the circle (or sphere) on the front of the mug is blue, in contrast with other mugs from this collection.
Epcot, short for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, is a unique and visionary theme park located in Walt Disney World Resort. Opened on October 1, 1982, Epcot offers an immersive experience that celebrates the wonders of human achievement, innovation, and cultural diversity. Divided into two distinct sections, Future World and World Showcase, Epcot combines futuristic technology, thrilling attractions, and a global tapestry of pavilions representing different countries. From soaring through the skies on Soarin’ Around the World to savoring international cuisine at the World Showcase, Epcot invites visitors to explore, learn, and be inspired by the limitless possibilities of the world we live in.
Here are some of the Epcot’s points of attraction that are showcased on the mug:
– Spaceship Earth is the centerpiece and iconic symbol of the park. It is a monumental geodesic sphere that captures the imagination of visitors. Stepping inside, guests are transported on a captivating journey through time, exploring the history of human communication and technological advancements.
– The Test Track car takes guests on a thrilling high-speed ride through an automobile testing lab, reaching speeds of up to 65 mph It simulates various tests, including braking maneuvers, cornering, acceleration, and even driving over rough terrain
– Figment is a beloved purple dragon character associated with the Imagination Pavilion. Created by Walt Disney Imagineers in 1983, Figment made its debut in the Epcot ride “Journey Into Imagination.” The ride combines storytelling, music, and visual effects to explore the power of imagination and creativity. With its catchy song “One Little Spark” and vibrant scenes, Journey Into Imagination offers a delightful and imaginative experience for visitors of all ages.
– Living with the Land Pavilion explores the relationship between humans and the Earth. It opened on October 1, 1982, as part of the grand opening of EPCOT Center. The pavilion focuses on agriculture, conservation, and travel, showcasing how humans can both utilize and preserve the land. One of the main attractions within the pavilion is Living with the Land, a boat ride that takes guests on an educational journey through gardens and greenhouses, highlighting Disney’s innovative methods for sustainable farming.
– Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind it takes guests on an exhilarating adventure through the cosmos with the beloved Guardians of the Galaxy characters. The ride features innovative technology, including rotating and launching in reverse, providing a unique and immersive experience.
