Discovery Series Ornament – Colorado
The design of the Starbucks Discovery Series Ornament Colorado showcases mountain landscapes, outdoor recreation, and year-round adventures. Located in the heart of the American West, Colorado is known for its dramatic Rocky Mountain scenery, alpine forests, ski resorts, and extensive network of hiking and camping destinations.
Included throughout the design are several landmarks and symbols strongly connected to Colorado and its outdoor culture.
– Rocky Mountains dominate the scenery of the mug. Stretching across much of the state, the Rockies define Colorado’s identity with snow-covered peaks, alpine lakes, deep forests, and scenic mountain passes. Destinations such as Rocky Mountain National Park, Aspen, and Telluride are internationally recognized for their natural beauty.
– Winter sports are represented through the snowboarder featured in the snowy mountain scenery of the design. Colorado is one of the premier winter recreation destinations in North America, famous for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and mountain resorts that attract visitors from around the world each year. The skier reflects the state’s strong connection to alpine culture and its reputation for world-class slopes and powder conditions.
– Camping is another major theme reflected in the design. With thousands of campgrounds, national forests, and wilderness areas, Colorado is considered one of the best states in the country for camping. From high-elevation alpine sites to forest campgrounds and desert landscapes in the western part of the state, outdoor overnight adventures are a major part of Colorado culture.
– Rocky Mountain Columbine, the state flower of Colorado, adds bright color to the artwork. Known for its delicate blue-and-white petals, the columbine grows naturally in alpine meadows and mountain regions throughout the state during the warmer months.
– Colorado Blue Spruce, the official state tree, appears among the forest imagery. This evergreen species is native to the Rocky Mountain region and is recognized for its silvery-blue needles and tall, symmetrical shape. Blue spruce trees are commonly found throughout Colorado’s mountainous landscapes and are strongly associated with the state’s wilderness scenery.
