You Are Here – Bergen
YAH city mugs are still in trend in Europe, and we get Starbucks You Are Here – Bergen as a proof of that. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. It is surrounded by mountains with certain areas of the city located on islands. Thanks to a temperate oceanic climate, Bergen’s weather is warmer than other Norwegian cities on this latitude. The Gulf Stream keeps the sea relatively warm, and the mountains protect the city from cold winds from the north, north-east, and east. This is also the reason Bergen is considered the rainiest city in Europe. Can you imagine, it rained every day from 29 October 2006 to 21 January 2007 for 85 consecutive days!
The front of the mug shows the panorama of Hanseatic buildings of Bryggen. Some of these multicolored houses have been reconstructed, since the fire of 1955. It was not the only fire which hit the city during its history, since, traditionally, most houses were made from wood.
