You Are Here – Kristiansand

It seems that European YAH mugs are still popping up here and there. Does it mean Starbucks is going to skip the Been There Series in this region and go straight to Discovery? That’s one of the possibilities, and only time will tell.

You Are Here Kristiansand is a mug for a charming Norwegian city that blends historical richness with modern vibrancy. Founded by King Christian IV in 1641, Kristiansand was established as a strategic fortification and trading post. The city’s layout, characterised by its grid pattern, reflects the Renaissance ideals of the time, aimed at efficiency and defence.… Read more

You Are Here – Lillehammer

This news and photos just came in from our blog reader: Starbucks has released the You Are Here – Lillehammer mug, making it the fifth city in Norway to have its own mug from this series. You can see them all here.

Lillehammer is a picturesque town located in the southern part of the country, known for its scenic beauty. Nestled along the northern shore of Lake Mjøsa, it gained international fame for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics. The town is also renowned for its well-preserved 19th-century wooden houses, lively cultural scene, and outdoor recreational activities, making it a popular destination for both tourists and winter sports enthusiasts.… Read more

You Are Here – Stavanger

Starbucks You Are Here – Stavanger was another Norwegian mug released back in 2020. It features the views of the fourth largest city in the country, with the oil industry being a key industry in this region.
I would like to mention a group of words that can be seen stuck in the mountains on the side of the mug. The name of this commemorative monument is “Sverd i fjell” (Swords in Rock). The three 33ft tall bronze swords planted into the rock of a small hill next to the fjord commemorate the historic Battle of Hafrsfjord that took place in the year 872.… Read more

You Are Here – Trondheim

Starbucks You Are Here – Trondheim is a mug for the third most populous municipality in Norway located on the south shore of Trondheim Fjord. It is a pretty old city, founded in 997 as a trading post under the name of Kaupangen, later renamed Nidaros. The city served as the capital of Norway during the Viking Age until 1217.
The design of the mug is very simple, showcasing the views of the city with old buildings located right on the water.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament Christmas – Norway

Just recently I’ve mentioned the release of the new mini mug from this Nordic country and we have its Holiday edition sibling Starbucks You Are Here Ornament Christmas – Norway hitting the shelves. For easier comparison, I’ve placed this new ornament next to the regular one and there is one interesting detail that I would like to point out. Apart from Holiday symbols added to the design, the shape of the Christmas trees is different on both the front and the back of the mug.… Read more

You Are Here – Bergen

YAH city mugs are still in trend in Europe, and we get Starbucks You Are Here – Bergen as a proof of that. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. It is surrounded by mountains with certain areas of the city located on islands. Thanks to a temperate oceanic climate, Bergen’s weather is warmer than other Norwegian cities on this latitude. The Gulf Stream keeps the sea relatively warm, and the mountains protect the city from cold winds from the north, north-east, and east.… Read more

You Are Here – Norway

If you’re missing YAHs already, here is the small treat – Starbucks You Are Here – Norway mug. As it was planned, this summer will be the Country mugs season. This particular mug has a very vivid design with popping colors: red, blue and white are pretty much the only colors used. We see two Norwegian flags (like one was not enough), mountains, snow and Christmas trees. Add here skis to emphasise skiing being huge in Norway and Oseberg Ship – a well-preserved Viking ship displayed at the Viking Ship Museum at Bygdøy and you are going to get pretty much the full picture of this mug.… Read more

You Are Here – Oslo

I was about to add this mug into the rumors section as I heard it’s coming soon. However, just one day later, pictures of it hit Facebook. Oslo is the first mug (I hope) from the You Are Here series released in Norway. As per the official Norway Facebook page, the mug is already available in stores today. The price is 175 NOK (Norwegian Krones) or $21, which makes it pretty expensive. EBay prices are pretty high as well, but will go down in the upcoming days (check the links from below).… Read more
