You Are Here – Bucharest
Again, thanks to a kind Facebook user, the most recent YAH release has popped up on my radar. This time it is You Are Here – Bucharest mug which was designed using many shades of blue. The front of the mug is occupied with architectural points of interest from this Romanian city:
– The Romanian Athenaeum (Ateneul Român) is a concert hall opened in 1888. It became a landmark of the city and hosts concerts on an almost daily basis.
– Triumphal Arch (Arcul de Triumf) is a stone version of the previously built wooden arch. It was originally built to commemorate Romania’s independence in 1878. It is worth noting, that military parades are still going through the Arch every year on December 1, which is the Great Union Day holiday in Romania.
Unfortunately, I was not able to identify the biggest building on the front, even though I looked through hundreds of photos of historical buildings in Bucharest. Maybe you can help me with that in the comments?
I think you lost Istanbul Christmasâ…¡ and Egypt Christmas in” You Are Here Christmas – International”
the total is 51 not 49
Thanks, I will check this out.
The tall building on the right – the one with arcades – is the Nation’s Heroes Memorial ftom Carol Park.
The building in front looks like the outside of Manuc’s Inn (Hanul lui Manuc) – where’s a Starbucks coffee shop.
Thanks, Ana. I will add that to the description.
Or could the big building in front be the enormous Casa Poporului (People’ House)?
Hello,
I visited Bucharest on February 2020 and even though I searched like crazy to find this mug, I couldn’t find it at 2-3 Starbucks Shops. Do you know if it has been out of stock or they have replace it with the Romania?
Thank you.
Central University Library Carol I Is the building’s name that you’re missing.
