You Are Here Ornament – Malta
Starbucks You Are Here Ornament – Malta has been finally released, after being in “rumored” state for almost six months. Not sure what took Starbucks so long, some production issues maybe. Anyway, it’s here and ready to join your collection.
As always, the mini mug kept all the elements of the design of the bigger mug. Here are some of Malta’s symbols to see:
– Bażilika Santwarju tal-Madonna tal-Karmnu (Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel) – which is probably Valletta’s most iconic landmark with its large dome dominating over city skyline. It was built in 1570, then badly damaged during World War II and then reopened in 1981 after 23 years of restoration.
– Triton Fountain – next to the City Gate of Valletta. It was built between 1952 and 1959
– The old brightly painted vintage buses were another symbol of Malta, which, unfortunately, were decommissioned in 2011 and replaced by the modern fleet. The old system consisted of privately owned buses, so that was the reason for the difference in their look, capacity, and age. Apart from serving as Malta public transportation, they were also a tourist attraction on its own. It’s sad that they had to go, but new times require new technologies.
