Thanks to a comment from one of our readers on the Turin mug post, we now know that Starbucks has released an updated version of the mug featuring the city’s Italian name. You can compare the two mugs side by side using the images below. It appears that You Are Here Torino includes no changes other than the updated title.

Torino has been an important city in northern Italy for centuries, starting as a Roman military camp and later becoming the capital of the Duchy of Savoy. In the 1800s, it briefly became the first capital of unified Italy, which helped shape its grand squares and elegant buildings. Over time, the city also grew into a major industrial center, especially with the rise of the car industry. Today, Torino mixes history, culture, and a calm, organized feel that sets it apart from other Italian cities.

The Mole Antonelliana is one of the most recognizable symbols on the mug. Its tall pointed spire shoots above the skyline and makes it stand out no matter where you are in the city. The building once started as a synagogue project, but later became home to the National Museum of Cinema.

The Royal Palace of Turin is shown through the long white facade with rows of windows stretching across the mug. This palace was once the home of the House of Savoy and still feels very grand and formal. Inside, it has large halls, elegant staircases, and a huge armoury. The mug keeps the design simple but still shows how wide and impressive the palace looks from the front.

Castello del Valentino is another key building represented by the two-toned structure with towers. This castle sits along the Po River and today belongs to the Polytechnic University of Turin. Its design mixes French-style roofs with Italian details, which makes it stand out from other city palaces.

– The large soccer ball pays tribute to Torino’s strong football culture. The city is home to Juventus and Torino FC, two teams with long histories and dedicated fans. Match days always bring noise, flags, and excitement.

– The small red building with arches looks like the Roman Porta Palatina, one of the best preserved Roman gates in Italy. It stands near the old cathedral area and still keeps its tall towers and brick walls. It is a strong reminder that Torino’s roots go far back to the Roman Empire.

– The small treats shown near the base of the mug point to Torino’s love for sweets, especially its most famous creation, the king of chocolates: the Gianduiotto. This little hazelnut chocolate is smooth, rich, and shaped like a tiny boat, and you can find it in almost every café and chocolate shop in the city. It has been a Turin specialty since the 1800s, made with local hazelnuts from Piemonte.
