Starbucks You Are Here – Trondheim is a mug for the third most populous municipality in Norway located on the south shore of Trondheim Fjord. It is a pretty old city, founded in 997 as a trading post under the name of Kaupangen, later renamed Nidaros. The city served as the capital of Norway during the Viking Age until 1217.
The design of the mug is very simple, showcasing the views of the city with old buildings located right on the water. The cello on the back of the mug is probably related to Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. I am also seeing Old Town Bridge (Gamle Bybro or Bybroa) that crosses the Nidelva River. It was built by Johan Caspar von Cicignon in 1681.

What you see on the mug is the Studentersamfundet building (the students house, the big red one) symbolising Trobdheim as the student town of Norway. The big white building is the fortress in the town. Then its the old town bridge, the statue of Olav Trygvasson (the founder of Trondheim and also christianity in Norway), the old town houses, and the violin symbolises probably that we have the national museum of instruments and music predating 1950 located in Trondheim. I am very happy with it despite thr lack of the beautiful Nidaros Cathedral.
