Been There – Japan Summer

The design of the Been There Japan Summer mug is dedicated to the summer season, obviously. Let me remind you that Japanese mugs are unique in the sense that apart from the regular mug, Starbucks releases four more mugs for each season. We’ve reviewed Japan Spring recently and noticed that while the layout stays the same, certain elements of the design were adapted to reflect the different seasons of the year. There is one more interesting detail about this particular release: while all other seasons, Spring, Autumn, and Winter, were all released in 2022, the Summer Edition was released in 2023, thus leaving collectors hanging for a while.… Read more

Discovery Series – Québec

The Discovery Series Québec mug is following the release of the ornament that we saw earlier. Some of the design elements are common; I invite you to read my previous post here. One small but interesting feature is the addition of the plate to the front of the snowmobile that says “QUÉBEC”. I love this little detail on the mug.

Here are some extra design elements added to the mug, when compared to the ornament:

Crepes are popular in Québec and particularly in Québec City, where they are celebrated as part of the region’s French culinary heritage.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Karlovy Vary

Three years after the release of the full-sized mug, You Are Here Ornament – Karlovy Vary is making its appearance in stores.

Karlovy Vary, also known as Carlsbad, is a spa town nestled in western Bohemia, Czech Republic. Founded in 1370 by Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, the city’s name translates to “Charles’ Boiling Water,” referencing its famous hot springs. Legend has it that Charles IV discovered the springs while on a hunting expedition, leading to the town’s establishment.

Throughout its history, Karlovy Vary has been a favored destination for European nobility, artists, and intellectuals.… Read more

Similar to mugs for Royal Caribbean cruise ships, Starbucks released ten more mugs for Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), and Been There – Norwegian Bliss is just one of them. Stay tuned for a quick overview of the other nine mugs!

The Norwegian Bliss, one of NCL’s newest ships, offers a wealth of entertainment and activities for passengers of all ages. Launched in 2018, this 1,094-foot vessel can accommodate over 4,000 guests.

Discovery Series Ornament – Lake Tahoe

Discovery Series Ornament – Lake Tahoe is yet another mini mug that doesn’t have a predecessor from the previous collections. There are quite a few Starbucks stores in the Lake Tahoe area, so you should be able to get one easily.

Nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains on the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and stunning alpine scenery. The Washoe Native American tribe first inhabited the Lake Tahoe Basin, calling it “Da ow a ga,” meaning “edge of the lake.” European Americans discovered the lake in 1844 when John C.… Read more

Discovery Series Ornament – Atlanta

Discovery Series Ornament Atlanta is a mini mug from Georgia. Starbucks released it for both the Been There and You Are Here collections, so I was pretty confident that the Discovery Series would get one too.

Starbucks placed these five things associated with Atlanta in the design of the ornament:

– Nestled in the heart of Midtown, the Atlanta Botanical Garden is a lush oasis spanning 30 acres of breathtaking natural beauty. Since its establishment in 1976, it has become a premier destination for plant lovers and casual visitors alike, featuring stunning displays of both native and exotic flora.… Read more

Suzhou is renowned for its classical gardens, many of which were constructed during the Ming and Qing dynasties and are now UNESCO World Heritage sites. Been There – Florida State

Starbucks Been There Florida State is the third Campus Collection mug from Florida!
Florida State University (FSU) was founded in 1851 as the Seminary West of the Suwannee River, making it one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Florida. It became a women’s college in 1905 and was renamed Florida State College for Women. In 1947, the institution returned to coeducational status and adopted its current name, Florida State University. Discovery Series Ornament – Montréal

This major Canadian city has always been overlooked in terms of ornaments. This injustice came to an end with the rollout of the new collection from Starbucks, which resulted in the release of the Discovery Series Ornament Montréal.

Montreal, founded in 1642 as Ville-Marie by French colonists, is one of the oldest cities in North America. Originally established as a missionary colony, it quickly became an important fur trading post due to its strategic location along the St. Lawrence River.… Read more

You Are Here – Kuşadası

Love the colors of the You Are Here Kuşadası mug from the Republic of Türkiye. Kusadasi is a coastal city that was originally settled by the Ionians in 3000 BCE and later came under Roman and Byzantine rule. The city’s name, meaning “Bird Island,” refers to a small island connected to the mainland by a causeway. Kusadasi gained prominence in the medieval period as an important port for trade between Europe and Asia. The impressive 17th-century Okuz Mehmed Pasha Caravanserai, built to accommodate merchants and travelers, stands as a testament to the city’s historical significance in commerce.… Read more
