Been There – Leon

Here’s Starbucks Been There – Leon from 2018 which is the biggest city in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. For some reason, it was missing from my list.
The hot air balloons on the front of the mug are referring to The Leon International Balloon Festival, which is the biggest of its kind in Latin America. It takes place annually since 2002.
You can also see the boots, the belt, and the bag, on the side of the mug. That’s for the leather industry of the city, which offers numerous products within Mexico and well outside of the country.… Read more

Been There – Chihuahua

I am catching up by adding missing Mexican mugs to the site. This Starbucks Been There – Chihuahua mug has been released back in 2018. Chihuahua is the name for both the state and the city in Mexico. My understanding it is a state mug since I don’t really see any city symbols or points of interest.
The Estado Libre y Soberano de Chihuahua is the largest state in Mexico by area and hence having the nickname El Estado Grande (‘The Big State’).… Read more

Been There – Jamaica

Starbucks Been There – Jamaica introduces the switch from Icon to Been There series for “the land of wood and water.” As per the company’s Facebook page, this mug is available for purchase in all stores right now. As soon as we get better pics, we will go over the details of the design. So far, it seems they’ve added the famous motto of the island – “no problem”. I guess it is supposed to symbolize the philosophy of life or a part of Jamaican culture, which is a big topic of its own.… Read more

You Are Here – Wroclaw

Starbucks You Are Here – Wrocław has also been released past weekend. It makes it the fifth Poland YAH (not counting the Christmas version). Is it me or the latest YAHs are all pretty nice looking, at least the colors used are brighter? I think this is great, it means the designers are still investing time and effort into the You Are Here Collection, even though it is set to be phased out.
Wrocław is the largest city in the historical region of Silesia and is located on the banks of the River Oder.… Read more

You Are Here – Poznań

I could not actually believe my eyes when I saw the message from the blog reader about this release. You Are Here – Poznań pretty much questions my belief on how fast YAHs will be replaced with Been There mugs. It seems that we still have some pretty nice releases ahead of us.
Poznań is the fifth-largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland located on the Warta River in the west-central part of the county. Established in the 10th century it has a rich history and for a long time was an important political and religious center of territories that later formed the Duchy of Poland.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament Christmas – Sweden

To my surprise, Starbucks releases You Are Here Ornament Christmas – Sweden along with the regular ornament. For a country with only ten stores (all in Stockholm), it is great news! See these two ornaments below for a comparison. As you can notice, it is a giant Christmas Tree and a Snowman that were added on the front.
To my understanding, these can still be found in stores, so you better hurry up before they are gone.

You Are Here Ornament – Sweden

I salute the release of Starbucks You Are Here Ornament – Sweden as it completes the Nordic countries ornament list (with the exception of Iceland, which doesn’t have stores). Similar to the bigger mug, the ornament presents the Royal Palace (an official residence of the Swedish monarch) on the front. The Palace was built between 1697 and 1760 in Italian Baroque style on the remains of the “Tre Kronor” castle which was burned down in 1697.

You Are Here – Metzingen

Starbucks You Are Here – Metzingen brings bright colors into this winter season. It makes it the eighteenth German mug (not counting Christmas versions) in the YAH collection
The mug showcases the views of the historical part of this small (with a population of 22,000 people only) city, which, in my opinion, makes the design of the mug look great.
There is a suit on the back of the mug, which, I guess, refers to Hugo Boss brand, that calls Metzingen home.… Read more

You Are Here – Turin

With the release of You Are Here – Turin, Starbucks covers both Italian cities where it actually has stores. It is safe to say that the expansion in “Bel Paese”(beautiful country) is not going as fast as it was expected (or it wasn’t?). Nonetheless, let’s welcome this new colorful mug into the YAH family.
Turin is well known for its Baroque, Rococo, Neo-classical, and Art Nouveau architectures and its numerous palaces, squares, parks, art galleries, museums, theatres, and churches. There was no way to fit them all on the mug, so it was a tough choice for the Starbucks designers.… Read more

You Are Here Christmas – Luxembourg

You Are Here Christmas – Luxembourg is the country mug from the past Christmas season. Even though Luxembourg is one of the smallest European countries, and according to Starbucks, it only has three stores, it gets both regular and Holiday edition mugs. You can see them side by side below (see this post for better pictures and the review of the design of the regular mug).
