Popular spots such as Wailua Falls, Twin Falls, Makahiku Falls, and Upper Waikani Falls are often found along the Road to Hana. These waterfalls are surrounded by dense greenery and flowing streams. They are a major draw for hikers and sightseers exploring the island.
– Surfing reflects Maui’s strong connection to ocean sports and wave culture. Well-known surf spots include Ho’okipa Beach, Lahaina Breakwall, Honu’ula Bay, and Kanaha Beach Park. These locations attract both professional surfers and beginners, depending on conditions. Surfing remains a core part of daily life and coastal culture on the island.

– Shaved ice truck represents a classic island treat enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Shaved ice is typically topped with fruit syrups and sometimes condensed milk or ice cream. Food trucks serving shaved ice are common across Maui. This symbol reflects casual, everyday island life.
– Banyan Tree points to one of Maui’s most famous natural landmarks. The massive banyan tree in Lahaina, planted in 1873, is one of the largest in the United States.
