Kashyyyk, the home planet of the Wookiees, plays an important part in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. During the Clone Wars, it becomes one of the battlegrounds between the Republic and the Separatists. Jedi Master Yoda is sent there to help lead the defence alongside the Wookiees, including Chewbacca.
The most important moment on Kashyyyk happens when Order 66 is given—this is the order that turns the clone troopers against the Jedi. While on the planet, Yoda senses the betrayal and escapes with help from the Wookiees. This event marks the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire. Kashyyyk becomes one of the last places where Yoda is seen before going into hiding.
