You Are Here – České Budějovice

The Czech Republic is getting a new release from the beloved YAH series. You Are Here – České Budějovice is a mug for a historic city in the South Bohemian region of the Czech Republic, which is also known as Budweis. Founded in 1265 by the Přemyslid king Ottokar II, it developed rapidly due to its strategic location at the confluence of the Vltava and Malše rivers. The city was granted the privilege of a royal town, boosting its trade and cultural significance.… Read more

Discovery Series Star Wars – Kashyyyk

The second mug from the recently announced trio is the Discovery Series Star Wars – Kashyyyk. What I like about these is that the circle on the front of the mug has a custom color, depending on the planet. It is, unfortunately, not the case for the state and city mugs – they all have the same dark green color circle.

Kashyyyk, the lush, forest-covered homeworld of the Wookiees, is one of the most iconic planets in the Star Wars galaxy.… Read more

Been There – Oita

Been There – Oita is a mug for a city located on the island of Kyushu in Japan. During the Nara period (710–794), Oita flourished as a center of culture and religion, thanks to the influence of Usa Jingu Shrine, one of the most important Shinto shrines in Japan. Throughout the centuries, Oita grew through trade, agriculture, and later, its development into a center for hot spring tourism, a reputation it proudly maintains today.

– One of Oita’s most famous attractions is its playful troop of monkeys at Takasakiyama Monkey Park.… Read more

Discovery Series – Yosemite

Discovery Series – Yosemite is the first National Park mug in the new collection. Since there aren’t many parks with Starbucks stores, Yosemite might remain the only mug of this kind.

Yosemite National Park was officially established on October 1, 1890, but its story starts earlier. In 1864, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Yosemite Grant, protecting Yosemite Valley and the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias, marking the first time land was set aside by the federal government specifically for preservation. Influential figures like John Muir fought hard to expand protections, and their efforts helped shape the national park system we know today.… Read more

You Are Here – Kazakhstan

Interestingly enough, Kazakhstan was the only country that Starbucks released the ornament for, but not a full-size mug. This situation was recently fixed by this brand-new release: the You Are Here – Kazakhstan mug.

Here is what we see in the design of this mug:

Tea drinking is a central part of Kazakhstani culture, often serving as a symbol of hospitality and community. It’s common for Kazakhs to share a pot of tea, typically green or black, with friends and visitors, accompanied by traditional sweets and snacks.… Read more

Been There Ornament – Wuxi

Been There Ornament – Wuxi accompanies the bigger mug that we’ve reviewed today, see this post. Like all Been There ornaments from China, it comes as a set of two, paired with the country ornament. It’s a bit inconvenient if you’re trying to collect all the cities, but that’s just how it is.

The ornament showcases most of the landmarks featured in the full-size mug design, but I’d like to mention these three additional symbols:

– The A Fu clay figurines, depicting a boy and a girl, are a popular form of Huishan clay figurines from Wuxi, symbolizing good fortune and happiness.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Baku

After months of waiting, I finally got my hands on the new Starbucks You Are Here Ornament – Baku. This latest release could very well be the final addition to the beloved series, making it even more special for collectors.

I very much like the design of this new ornament. It uses a beautiful mix of light blue, pink, and green colors that feel both fresh and nostalgic. The ornament is a miniature replica of the full-sized Baku mug I reviewed previously, keeping the same iconic imagery that defines the city:

– The Fire Temple, or Ateshgah, stands proudly on the outskirts, capturing Baku’s ancient connection to fire worship.… Read more

Been There – Wuxi

Starbucks Been There – Wuxi is a mug for a city located in Jiangsu Province. Wuxi is one of China’s oldest cities, with a history dating back over 3,000 years. It was once a vital center for the Wu Kingdom during the Spring and Autumn Period. Known for its early prosperity in rice cultivation and silk production, Wuxi grew into a major commercial hub by the Ming and Qing dynasties. Its name, meaning “without tin,” reflects the depletion of local tin mines that once drove its early economy.… Read more

Discovery Star Wars ornaments are now confirmed!

Mark your calendars for May 4th. The official Disney Store Instagram just confirmed that three brand-new Discovery Star Wars mugs – yes, the ones I mentioned earlier – will be available online at the Disney Store.
But that’s not all. A new set of three Star Wars ornaments is also dropping. They come packaged together in one box, similar to the Been There Star Wars ornament sets from past years. Please note, this release is also confirmed for the UK and France online Disney Stores too.… Read more

Discovery Series Star Wars – Tatooine

Let’s review in more detail one of the mugs from the recently released Star Wars trio. Discovery Series Star Wars – Tatooine comes four years after the Been There mug with the same name. Please note that the box cover is designed specifically for this mug and features the name of the planet. I recommend keeping it, as it is part of the collectible.

Tatooine is a desert planet in the Star Wars universe, known for its twin suns and harsh, arid climate.… Read more
