Icon – Sabah 2

I thought Starbucks is going to stick to the nice number of 444 mugs for the Icon collection, however, the company decided to surprise us with the release of two new Malaysian Icons. Here is the first one from the pair – Starbucks Icon – Sabah v2.
Sabah is a state in the north of Borneo Island, Malaysia. Kota Kinabalu is the capital city, the economic center, and the seat of the state government.
The flower on the front of the mug is Rafflesia, a parasitic flowering plant, which has no stems, leaves, or roots.… Read more

Been There – Ho Chi Minh

Here’s another mug from the pair that has been revealed recently by Starbucks Vietnam. Been There – Ho Chi Minh brought some controversy in the comments below the official news post of this release. It seems that many people would prefer Saigon over Ho Chi Minh for the name of the mug. There could be a couple of reasons for that. The largest city in Vietnam got its current official name, Ho Chi Minh City in 1976 when then Saigon was merged with the surrounding suburbs.… Read more

Starbucks continues expanding the new collection of mugs in Asia. Been There – Singapore has just hit the stores in this island city-state from Southeast Asia. Modern Singapore was founded in 1819 as a trading port of the British Empire. It remained under British control till 1959 when it gained self-governance (there was a short period of Japan occupation though). It became part of the new federation of Malaysia in 1963 but due to numerous differences, it was expelled from the federation two years later, hence becoming an independent country.… Read more

Been There – Republica Dominicana

Starbucks is coming to Dominicana with two new mugs. Been There – Republica Dominicana is one of them. It is designed using the red color palette with some elements in yellow.
From first glance, it seems that the mug is featuring a baseball player, which refers to baseball being very popular in this Caribbean country.
