You Are Here – Italy

Here’s Starbucks You Are Here – Italy mug. It took Starbucks 47 years to open its first store in Italy. The reason is pretty obvious – Italians take coffee seriously and prefer drinking espresso on the run. They come to coffee shop or bar, order their espresso, drink it fast, pay and leave. It takes 5 minutes and this is quite different compared to the behavior of the common Starbucks customer. To be honest with you, I find myself disappointed with the lack of free space in Starbucks stores quite often.… Read more

Been There Ornament – Pike Place

I somehow missed to add this mini mug to the site, and it’s a shame, because this one is special, since Starbucks Been There Ornament – Pike Place can only be bought in one store – The Pike Place Starbucks store, commonly called the Original Starbucks. That particular store has obviously found it’s place on the mug. The string is green.… Read more

Been There Christmas – Arizona

Starbucks Been There Christmas Arizona mug reveals some interesting details. Take a look at the image below, where I compare the BT Arizona and it’s Holiday Edition. See how “The Sand Hill State” nickname was replaced with a lizard (I was not able to identify which exactly that one is). And the reason for this change is the numerous complaints from Arizona residents who refused to accept this design. Apparently it went viral and Starbucks decided to update the mug, to make everyone happy.… Read more

Been There Christmas – Canada

The one and only Canadian Holiday Edition – Starbucks Been There Christmas Canada. Yep, despite of the fact, that there are 20 Canadian BT mugs released so far, there is only one painted in gold. My understanding, Starbucks was not sure about the demand and decided to choose the safe way. There is also a possibility, that they keep other cities and provinces for the next year. Let’s hope for the second option!… Read more

Been There Christmas – Boston

Starbucks Been There Christmas Boston is the Holiday Edition of the second version of the existing mug. As a reminder, Boston was one of the mugs with misprint (see this post for more details). As for this particular mug, the actual error was “Boston Commons” instead of “Boston Common” on the back of the mug. As you can see on the pic below, Christmas edition, as expected, has the proper wording.

You Are Here – Japan 2 Winter Edition

Release of the Starbucks You Are Here – Japan v2 will probably be the most important news of November 2018. Starbucks calls it “Winter Version” of the existing mug. Following elements symbolizing Japan winter were added, replacing existing ones:
– camellia flowers (Camellia Japonica, common camellia, Japanese camellia or Tsubaki), often called the rose of winter, since it prefers cool temperatures.
– Red-crowned cranes – one of the rarest cranes in the world. The cranes are most spectacular to watch as they dance, often in pairs, with seemingly choreographed dips and jumps.… Read more
