Discovery Series – Philadelphia

The mini version of the Discovery Series – Philadelphia mug features cheesesteak, Rocky, the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, and Philadelphia’s skyline in its design. The big mug has them as well, plus some extra symbols and points of interest of the city:

– The Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the largest and most renowned art museums in the country. Its iconic front steps became famous thanks to the movie Rocky, attracting visitors who sprint to the top for a photo.… Read more

Discovery Series – Temple University

Starbucks Discovery Series – Temple University is a mug for the educational institution founded in 1884 by Russell Conwell as a night school for working-class citizens with a humble vision inside the original Baptist Temple. Conwell believed in providing accessible education to those with ambition and drive – his motto, “Perseverance Conquers,” still resonates deeply with the Temple community today. Over time, Temple grew into one of the nation’s leading urban public research universities, rooted in Philadelphia’s vibrant and historic Broad Street corridor.… Read more

Discovery Series Ornament – Philadelphia

While chasing the AC ornament, I made a quick drive to Philly to pick up Discovery Series Ornament – Philadelphia as well. I have to admit, the color choice for the title on this mini mug isn’t ideal, as it blends into the dark green circle common to all ornaments in the Discovery Series. That said, it does look better in person.

Philadelphia has been at the heart of American history since before the country was born. Founded in 1682 by William Penn, the city quickly became a center of politics, commerce, and ideas.… Read more

Discovery Series – Pennsylvania

Starbucks Discovery Series – Pennsylvania is a mug for a state in the northeastern US, one of the original thirteen colonies. Penn sought to establish a haven for religious freedom and tolerance, principles that would shape Pennsylvania’s character for centuries to come. In 1776, it played a pivotal role in the American Revolution as the site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.… Read more

Been There – Pennsylvania 2

Here’s a long-due release of Been There – Pennsylvania 2 mug. And just to give you some context, the mini-version (ornament) was updated to v2 a long time ago. Similar to that release, Been There v2 brings the following changes:
– “Youse!” instead of “Youze!”. Both are used as an alternative form for “you” (singular and plural) in certain regions of the USA (and some other English-speaking countries).
– “TURN-PIKE” now has the dash in the name and refers to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (a.k.a Penna Turnpike or PA Turnpike).… Read more

Been There Ornament – Pennsylvania 2

Starbucks Been There Ornament – Pennsylvania v2 is an updated version of the previously released mini mug. It brings two changes as far as I can see – the deer now says “Youse!” instead of “Youze!”, “TURN-PIKE” has the dash in the name. It seems that most of the recent changes for Been There mugs are related to dashes, I see them everywhere. That being said, it seems like a valid reason to release the second version, do you guys agree?… Read more
