You Are Here – Plzeň

Let’s get back to Europe, where the YAH collection is still growing! You Are Here – Plzeň is the brand-new mug for a city located in the western part of the Czech Republic. Founded in 1295 by King Wenceslaus II, Plzeň quickly became a key trade and cultural center due to its strategic location at the crossroads of major routes. The city is perhaps best known as the birthplace of Pilsner beer, first brewed in 1842 at the Pilsner Urquell Brewery, which revolutionized brewing worldwide.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Italia

Along with an updated mug for the capital city, Starbucks has also released a new version of the country ornament! A brand-new design was spotted in stores, and it appears to be replacing the previous one. You Are Here Ornament – Italia uses the name Italians actually use for their country. Interestingly, I haven’t seen the larger mug yet, but I’m sure it’s coming soon.

The name “Italia” has ancient roots, tracing back to the Greeks, who referred to a portion of Southern Italy as “Italói,” possibly derived from a word meaning “calf” or “young bull.” This symbol, often associated with fertility and strength, may reflect the region’s pastoral richness.… Read more

You Are Here – Roma

Starbucks has released an updated version of the mug for the capital of Italy: You Are Here – Roma. You can see a comparison of the two mugs below; they are identical except for the city name. Roma is how the locals say it — a name as timeless as the city itself.

Speaking of names, here are some of Rome’s most iconic nicknames:

– The Eternal City
Roma is known as The Eternal City because its legacy spans thousands of years, from the rise of the Roman Empire to today’s bustling capital.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Warsaw

Just when I thought I was done with my YAH ornaments collection, a friend sent me a picture of a mini mug I didn’t recognize. It took me a second to realize – it’s a brand-new release! I even had to check the calendar to make sure it’s 2025 out there!
As you can expect, You Are Here Ornament – Warsaw is a complete copy of the bigger mug that was released back in 2018. This is a common practice for this collection.… Read more

The Czech Republic is getting a new release from the beloved YAH series. You Are Here – Kazakhstan

Interestingly, Kazakhstan was the only country for which Starbucks released an ornament but not a full-size mug. This situation was recently fixed by this brand-new release: the You Are Here – Kazakhstan mug.

Here is what we see in the design of this mug:

Tea drinking is a central part of Kazakhstani culture, often serving as a symbol of hospitality and community. It’s common for Kazakhs to share a pot of tea, typically green or black, with friends and visitors, accompanied by traditional sweets and snacks.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Baku

After months of waiting, I finally got my hands on the new Starbucks You Are Here Ornament – Baku. This latest release could very well be the final addition to the beloved series, making it even more special for collectors.

I very much like the design of this new ornament. It uses a beautiful mix of light blue, pink, and green colors that feel both fresh and nostalgic. The ornament is a miniature replica of the full-sized Baku mug I reviewed previously, keeping the same iconic imagery that defines the city:

– The Fire Temple, or Ateshgah, stands proudly on the outskirts, capturing Baku’s ancient connection to fire worship.… Read more

You Are Here – Almaty

You Are Here – Almaty is an unexpected release from Kazakhstan, a vast, landlocked country in Central Asia, known for its cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and rich natural resources. Interestingly enough, Kazakhstan only saw two other releases from the YAH series: the Astana mug and the Kazakhstan ornament.

Almaty, the largest city in the country, has a fascinating history that spans centuries. Originally known as Alma-Ata, which translates to “Father of Apples” in Kazakh, the city’s name reflects its deep connection to the fertile region, famous for its wild apple trees.… Read more
