As I’ve mentioned before, the change includes the “Northern Red Oak” writing on the front of the ornament, which is the proper name of the official state tree of New Jersey (adopted in 1950). Starbucks introduces the updated version of the previously released mug, Starbucks Been There – New Jersey v2. The change they bring in is that “Red Oak” is replaced with “Northern Red Oak” right on the front of the mug. Funny enough I was mentioning this tree in my review of the NJ ornament, but it didn’t come to my mind that Starbucks was planning to “fix” that. – Northern Red Oak was adopted as the official state tree in 1950
– New Jersey designated the Eastern Goldfinch as the official state bird in 1935
– The Bayonne Bridge is an arch bridge connecting New Jersey and Staten Island, New York City. It has been reconstructed between 2013 and 2017 during roadbed-raising project which allowed bigger ships to pass under the bridge.

Starbucks Been There – Rutgers was not on the list of the mugs I expected for the Campus Collection. Well, like I always say, the more the better

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is a public land-grant research university based in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Chartered in 1766, Rutgers was originally called Queen’s College. It is the eighth-oldest college in the United States.
“The Birthplace of College Football” phrase can be seen on the front of the mug. It is the reference to Rutgers being the place for the first intercollegiate football game between Rutgers and Princeton on November 6, 1869.… Read more
