You Are Here Ornament – Istanbul

What I love about Starbucks, that it always does unexpected moves in terms of merchandise and mugs in particular. However, it might be only unexpected to us, while their marketing department knows better what to release and when. Anyway, just when I thought that European country ornaments were the last batch from this series for this region, Starbucks strikes back with the release of the mini city mug – You Are Here Ornament – Istanbul. Pretty amazing, right? On the other hand, this major Turkish city holds a special place in Starbucks YAH collection.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Denmark

This is You Are Here Ornament – Denmark, a smaller version of the bigger mug released a year ago. It has a light blue string and features some of the points of interest and symbols from one of the oldest countries in Europe:
– Multicolored row houses became a trademark of the old city architecture of some countries from Nothern Europe. My understanding, it is Nyhavn Canal which is depicted in particular. The boat in front of the houses might be additional proof for that.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Japan 5 Fall Edition

You Are Here Ornament – Japan 5 – Fall Edition is a little cute mug which is accompanying the bigger one. These two are going to be available in stores just in two days – on August 30. I wish I was in Japan now, to snatch a pair of these for my collection. I bet drinking your favorite beverage from these Autumn themed mugs as nights are getting longer is twice as tastier.

You Are Here Ornament – Scotland

It was just yesterday that I wondered if there were any new releases on Friday, as it usually happens, and voila, someone reveals a picture of You Are Here Ornament – Scotland today. Here’s the link to the bigger mug for comparison.
“Nessie”, Loch Ness Monster, is still there as an essential part of the local folklore.
I would also like to mention the Great Highland bagpipe on the other side of the mug. Interesting enough, while when we think of bagpipe, we remember Scotland, it came from Spain in the 15th century.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Japan 4 Summer Collection

You Are Here Ornament – Japan 4 Summer Collection is coming right after its bigger brother. The string is green as well as the inside of the mini mug.
As I promised in the previous post, I am going to talk about the remaining elements of the design of this set.
On the side of the ornament, right after the sailboat, we see three slices of watermelon. And this is not just your average fruit, but Japanese watermelons. Let me tell you why they are so special, they are much sweeter than those found in the other parts of the world.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – France

Starbucks made us wait quite a while for this cutie. There is no definitive answer whether You Are Here Ornament – France hit the stores or not. The picture you’re seeing is coming from eBay and some people report being able to buy it in Paris. This uncertainty should not stop real collectors from hunting this mini mug down. Am I right, guys? If you happen to get it, please share your findings in comments.

You Are Here Ornament – Italy

There are only two stores in Italy, nonetheless, Starbucks introduced the mini version of the previously released mug. Here’s the photo of You Are Here Ornament Italy, which has been spotted today in Milan. As far as I remember, they only sell mugs in the store, other than Reserve (correct me if I am wrong in the comments). Keep that in mind, when visiting Milan. On a similar note, it is always a good idea to call the store in advance to check the availability of mugs and ornaments.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Belgium

I really expected You Are Here Ornament – Belgium to be released earlier since Belgium was one of 10 Holiday Edition ornaments released last Christmas. Well, better late than never!
This mini mug has a green string and apart from being a copy of a bigger Belgium YAH, resembles Brussels. It features a row of historic houses of different colors on the front and the Museum of the City of Brussels (located in the Maison du Roi (King’s House) or Broodhuis (Breadhouse)) on the side.… Read more
