You Are Here – Valencia

Starbucks You Are Here – Valencia mug has been revealed by an avid collector from Spain. I really like how they pictured The Falles (Fallas) – a traditional celebration held in commemoration of Saint Joseph and specifically La Cremà. The latter is a culmination point of the celebration when all “fallas” (decorations which include huge dolls) are burnt down. That’s what those “people on fire” are on the front of the mug.
Stay tuned for more pics.… Read more

You Are Here – Oktoberfest

There were some rumors about this mug coming, yet the release of Starbucks You Are Here – Oktoberfest has caught me by surprise. Thanks to a friend, here are some exclusive photos from which you can see that the new mug has all the elements from five Oktoberfest Icons combined in one!
This includes:
– Lederhosen and Dirndl (traditional costumes worn in Austria and Germany)
– The Bavarian pretzel which is a classic Oktoberfest snack (makes good pair with beer!)
– Beer and Würstl (Bavarian sausages) is another inseparable pair and symbol of the festival
– Krinoline which has been present at the Oktoberfest since 1924.… Read more

You Are Here – Jinghong

Starbucks You Are Here – Jinghong mug has been revealed by a Facebook user today. Yes, another one has joined numerous family of Chinese mugs already available in stores.
Jinghong is a city in the far south of China’s Yunnan province. It was founded in 1180 under the name of Chiang Hung and has been always under the radar of major surrounding powers like Burma(Myanmar), Siam(now Thailand), and China.
The picture I have doesn’t allow me to properly review design elements, however, I do see Jinghong Primitive Forest Park.… Read more

You Are Here – Warsaw

I somehow missed to add You Are Here – Warsaw mug to the site, even though it was released quite some time ago – in October 2018! And thanks to an attentive reader of this blog, the capital of Poland makes it’s appearance here. Anyway, here are some items from the mug:
– The Royal Castle has served as the official residence of the Polish monarchs for centuries. It is located in the Castle Square, at the entrance to the Warsaw Old Town.… Read more

You Are Here – Bremen

I stopped counting how many German YAHs there are already. Here’s is another one, brand new You Are Here – Bremen. It has been spotted 2 days ago, but it is only now that I got the picture to share with you, thanks to a friend.
Bremen is a major economic hub of the northern regions of Germany. Many international companies have headquarters here. That’s maybe what designers were trying to emphasize by placing some tall buildings in the background on the front of the mug.… Read more

You Are Here – Canary Islands

Starbucks You Are Here – Canary Islands mug is probably the hardest to get from those released for Spain recently. And it’s not because there are too few stores (there are eight in total on two biggest islands), but because of the remote location of this autonomous Spanish archipelago. On the bright side, it’s a very popular touristic destination all year round. You can get there by plane or by boat from mainland Spain, for instance. The ferry option, however, will take quite some time (30-40h depending on the route).… Read more

You Are Here – Sevilla

The fourth largest city in Spain is getting YAH version – Starbucks You Are Here – Sevilla mug. Please note the Spanish spelling of the name of the city – Sevilla instead of Seville. This has been a tradition for Starbucks to use local names (where possible) for the international mugs.
The front of the mug shows us the flamenco dancer costume and this is expected, as one of the districts in Seville, Triana, is considered a birthplace of flamenco. Flamenco is not just a dance but an art that can take different forms, based on the various folkloric music traditions of Andalusian culture.… Read more

You Are Here – Marbella

Here’s another Spanish mug for your review – Starbucks You Are Here – Marbella. This is the city in the south of Spain, and the part of the Costa del Sol (literally, “Coast of the Sun”). And that’s what we see first on the front of the mug – a big red sun. There are also mountains in the background, symbolizing the coastal mountain range, which includes the Bermeja, Palmitera, Royal, White, and Alpujata. Beaches, waves, palms, and luxury yacht all refer to Marbella’s position on the coast of the Midddeteranian Sea.… Read more

You Are Here – Bilbao

Starbucks You Are Here – Bilbao is the mug for the city in northern Spain, a de facto capital of the Basque Country.
The design of the mug is pretty simple, showing us the skyline of the city surrounded by water. While Bilbao is a seaport, what we see here, is the estuary of Bilbao which connects the city to Bisque Bay. There are two small mountain ranges with an average elevation of 1300 ft surrounding Bilbao, those can be seen on the mug as well.… Read more

You Are Here – Balearic Islands

Spain scores big time, as there’s a bundle of five mugs released simultaneously. Here’s the first of them, Starbucks You Are Here – Balearic Islands.
The Balearic Islands are an archipelago along the eastern coast of Spain, in the western Mediterranean Sea. This, in fact, is the autonomous community of Spain, with the biggest islands being Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. You can see those on the back of the mug. Palma de Mallorca is the capital of this province.… Read more
