Another state is joining the new collection with the release of the Discovery Series – New York mug. Interestingly enough, the sphere on the front of the mug is green, similar to yesterday’s release. Another observation I’ve made is that, unlike the previous series, the inside of the mug is matte, or at least not as glossy.

As you’ve noticed, simplicity is the hallmark of the new series, especially when compared to the Been There collection. Here are some of the symbols and places of interest that are depicted on the mug. Please note, I am assuming this is a NY State release, and the New York City will follow.

– In 1955, the rose was declared the official flower of New York State, symbolizing beauty, love, and the vibrant spirit of the state. With its delicate petals and captivating fragrance, the rose has long been cherished in gardens and bouquets alike. This designation celebrates the enduring appeal of the rose and its cultural significance, reflecting New York’s rich tapestry of traditions and its appreciation for natural beauty. Whether adorning Central Park’s lush gardens or gracing the tables of elegant events, the rose stands as a timeless emblem of New York’s elegance and charm.

– An Adirondack chair is a type of outdoor furniture characterized by its distinctive design, typically featuring a slanted back and seat made of wide wooden slats, wide armrests, and a low-to-the-ground profile. These chairs are often used on patios, decks, or in outdoor settings such as gardens or by the beach. The Adirondack chair is named after the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, where it was first designed in the early 20th century. Its comfortable and ergonomic design makes it a popular choice for relaxing outdoors while enjoying the scenery.
On a similar note, that char can also be a reminder that New York has a variety of beaches. From the iconic shores of Coney Island to the serene stretches of Long Island’s coastline, there’s something for everyone seeking sun, sand, and sea. Whether strolling along the bustling boardwalks of Rockaway Beach or enjoying panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean from the sandy shores of Montauk, New York’s beaches provide an escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, inviting locals and tourists alike to relax, unwind, and soak in the coastal ambiance.

Ellis Island, located in New York Harbor, holds a significant place in American history as the nation’s busiest immigrant inspection station from 1892 to 1954. Serving as the gateway for over 12 million immigrants entering the United States, Ellis Island symbolizes hope, opportunity, and the pursuit of the American Dream. Today, it stands as a museum and a national symbol of immigration, commemorating the stories and experiences of those who passed through its halls in search of a better life.

– The Statue of Liberty, a colossal neoclassical sculpture, stands proudly on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, welcoming visitors from around the world to the United States. A symbol of freedom and democracy, this iconic statue was a gift from France to America in 1886, commemorating the centennial of the Declaration of Independence. With her torch held high and a radiant crown atop her head, Lady Liberty represents enlightenment and opportunity, embodying the ideals of liberty, hope, and progress. As one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world, the Statue of Liberty continues to inspire millions, serving as a beacon of hope for generations seeking refuge and a better life in the land of opportunity.
