You Are Here Christmas – Malta

Starbucks You Are Here Christmas – Malta is a full size Holiday Country mug. This will be somewhat hard to get since it’s an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. You have to go all way down to Sicily and then take a ferry to get there. An easier solution can be a plane, obviously. See the regular mug and the ornament posts for more info about Malta.
I am reposting these pictures with the permission of the Facebook user.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament Christmas – Russia

Starbucks You Are Here Ornament Christmas – Russia opens the Holiday season of the city/country mugs. I am really happy to see that Starbucks decided to release more mugs for the YAH collection since I was under the impression that last Christmas was the season finale for this series.
For an easy comparison, I placed the regular and Christmas ornaments side by side below. As you can see the snowman and the gift boxes were added on the right of the front of the mug.… Read more

YAH Schiphol is real

This is an update in regards to Starbucks You Are Here – Schiphol mug, which I deemed to be a prototype that was never released. But, thanks to a Facebook user, it seems that some of these mugs made their way to the store or were gifted to baristas. These new pictures are coming from eBay where it was sold recently. It makes this mug an almost impossible to find item from You Are Here collection.
2021-01-15 update: the mug has been officially released in Schiphol Airport store.… Read more

Been There – Turks & Caicos

Starbucks Been There – Turks & Caicos is the mug for a British Overseas Territory which consists of two groups of islands: the larger Caicos Islands and smaller Turks Islands. Being the perfect touristic destination it welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, which is a lot, considering the size of the islands and the population of about 40k people.
Surely enough, sea life exploration and numerous water activities are what inspired the designers of the mug.

Been There – Cayman Islands

Starbucks Been There – Cayman Islands is the mug for the autonomous British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean Sea. George Town is the capital and the most populous city in the country which consists of three islands: Grand Cayman (the largest), Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman (the smallest).
The designers of the mug were inspired by what these islands are known for: the beach resorts, various scuba diving, and snorkeling activities as well as deep-sea fishing excursions.

Been There – Santa Cruz de la Sierra

Starbucks Been There – Santa Cruz de la Sierra is the only city mug from Bolivia, with no country mug released so far. This city is the largest in Bolivia being its principal industrial center. It first founded in 1561 by Spanish explorer Ñuflo de Chavez. Interestingly enough, the location of the city has been moved several times since then (125 miles in total to the west).
Designers used a green palette for the design of the mug, which reflects the colors of the flag of the city – two green stripes divided by a white stripe.… Read more

Been There – Uruguay

Starbucks Been There – Uruguay is another mug from South America that I had no chance to add, even though it was released back in 2018. The country, whose official name is the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, borders Brazil on the north and Argentina on the south. Montevideo is the capital and the largest city of the country.
During the colonization times, the ownership of these lands was not very well defined. It was always under influence of both Spain and Portugal.… Read more

Been There – Ciudad de Mexico

Starbucks Been There – Ciudad de Mexico is a mug for the capital and largest city of Mexico and the most populous city in North America. Did you know that Mexico City is located at the altitude of 7000 ft and hence is considered a high-altitude city? It is also the oldest capital in the Americas. The city was originally built on an island of Lake Texcoco by the Aztecs in 1325 as Tenochtitlan, which was almost completely destroyed by the Spanish in 1521.… Read more

Been There – Guanajuato

I believe that Starbucks Been There – Guanajuato is a city mug, based on its design, which is mostly featuring the city’s landmarks.
Here are they:
– Alhóndiga de Granaditas was originally built as grain storage but later played a major role in the first battle of the Mexican War of Independence between insurgents and royalist troops on September 28, 1810.
– The Guanajuato tunnels are a series of wide channels that extended under the city and help divert traffic away from the city center.… Read more
