Been There Ornament – Manila

Starbucks Been There Ornament Manila looks similar to the full-size mug and comes with the red string. Manila is the capital of the Philippines and the most densely populated city proper in the world.
The design of the ornament is dedicated to a great mix of the city’s architecture that shows a wide range of styles from different historical and cultural periods. While browsing the city, you can notice American, Spanish, Chinese, and Malay influences everywhere.
I would like to mention the Rizal Monument (Motto Stella, “guiding star”).… Read more

Been There Ornament – Boracay

Starbucks Been There Ornament Boracay is the second out of four Philippines ornaments released back in 2020. Boracay is a popular touristic destination and I made a review of the bigger mug two years ago.
The design of the ornament is all about the wide range of activities the island of Boracay can offer.
Willy’s Rock is probably the island’s most popular landmark. It is located in shallow waters near the beach and represents a tidal island with a statue of the Virgin Mary on top of steps that are carved into the volcanic rock.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Amsterdam

Since these cute mini cups always had a particular place in my heart, I was more than happy to learn about the release of the Starbucks You Are Here Amsterdam Ornament. What makes it even more special, is the fact that it comes out exactly one year after the very last YAH ornament that I’ve reviewed here. The new release has exactly the same design as the bigger mug, obviously, as it was always the case for You Are Here collection.… Read more

You Are Here – Innsbruck

After getting multiple messages about the release of Starbucks You Are Here Innsbruck mug, I have no choice but to add it to the site immediately. In fact, it’s not very often we get to see the new mug from the collection that is being discontinued since 2018. Innsbruck makes it the fifth (including the Christmas version) mug from Austria. On a side note, it is 474th YAH, if my calculations are correct.
The mug has a colorful, simple yet eye-catching design which will please the true fans of this series.… Read more

You Are Here – Rome

Here’s an interesting release from Italy! Starbucks You Are Here – Rome makes it the fourth mug from this country (after Italy, Milan and Turin).
Similar to other Italian mugs, this release was timed to the opening of the new Starbucks store, this time in Rome. After doing some small research, I can see that it was supposed to be opened back in 2020, then in 2021. Two years later, this finally has happened yesterday (April 7, 2022).… Read more

You Are Here – Montpellier

Starbucks You Are Here – Montpellier might be one of the last mugs from the YAH collection. Montpellier is a city in southern France close to the Mediterranean Sea. This location made it an important municipality of the Crown of Aragon in the 13th century. Montpellier is home to one of the oldest universities in the world – Université de Montpellier, which was established in 1220.
The front of the mug showcases La Fontaine des Trois Graces (The Three Graces Fountain) from La Place de la Comédie.… Read more

Been There – Orlando 2

Been There – Orlando v2 is another revised version of the existing mug. I’d rather Starbucks issue mugs for the new locations, be it cities or parks, but I’ll take v2 as well!
As you can see from the comparison collage below, even though the change is somewhat obvious, being on the front of the mug, it’s not as big, when compared with this recent release, as an example. Specifically, the “Theme Park Capital of the World” nickname is gone now.… Read more

You Are Here – Hulun Buir

Starbucks You Are Here – Hulun Buir makes it the 81st YAH mug from Zhongguo (the Middle Kingdom in Mandarin, a.k.a China), and that’s not counting the Christmas Edition mugs.
Hulun Buir, located in Inner Mongolia (autonomous region of the PRC), is probably the least populous and the northernmost Chinese region that got the mug. This region is governed as a prefecture-level city and that makes it one of the biggest cities in the world by area (though very uncrowded).… Read more

Been There – Sacramento

Here’s the brand new mug – Been There Sacramento. It seems that Starbucks will be releasing mugs for more and more US cities, which is great. The design of this mug is using a color palette similar to the San Francisco mug and is featuring many points of interest and landmarks of the city.
I would like to mention one of the symbols of Sacramento, which is its nickname – the “City of Trees”. Indeed, the city has above average number of trees per capita when compared with other major cities in the United States and the world.… Read more
