Discovery Series – The Bronx

Discovery Series The Bronx is a mug for the only New York City borough that is part of the United States mainland.

The Bronx was named after Jonas Bronck, a Swedish sea captain who settled in the area in 1639. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, the region remained largely rural, dotted with farms and estates owned by prominent New York families. The borough underwent a massive transformation in the late 19th century with the arrival of elevated trains and subway lines, spurring rapid urbanization and population growth.… Read more

Been There – New York University

It has been a while since I’ve had a new release from the Campus Collection for review, and it seems that Been There New York University mugs are finally widely available now.

New York University (NYU) was founded in 1831 by a group of prominent New Yorkers led by then-Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin. The vision was to create a non-denominational, accessible institution that catered to the working class, a stark contrast to the private, religious colleges that dominated the educational landscape of the time.… Read more

Discovery Series – New York

Another state is joining the new collection with the release of the Discovery Series – New York mug. Interestingly enough, the sphere on the front of the mug is green, similar to yesterday’s release. Another observation I’ve made is that, unlike the previous series, the inside of the mug is matte, or at least not as glossy.

As you’ve noticed, simplicity is the hallmark of the new series, especially when compared to the Been There collection. Here are some of the symbols and places of interest that are depicted on the mug.… Read more

Been There Christmas – New York

Starbucks Been There Christmas New York has been spotted for sale, but not in stores, coming obviously from people who have early access to pre-released merchandise. Starbucks marks shipping boxes with “no picking before November 2” labels, yet it doesn’t stop some baristas. I still suggest waiting till official release, and buy it for the face value. Sometimes it is worth the wait.… Read more

Been There – New York

Starbucks Been There New York mug is the state mug and not the city as it was in the case of YAH. That’s why we see the Adirondack Mountains on the front of the mug – a beautiful park in the Upstate New York. Will definitely get back to it while doing a full review.… Read more

You Are Here Christmas – New York and Seattle

Hello muggers. Can you just imagine if there were more US Christmas YAHs than just Hawaii and Pike Place Market released? Well, look at the picture. It’s hard to believe, but it turns out Starbucks had plans for more Christmas YAHs – at least two – New York and Seattle. God knows why these were never released, maybe it was supply shortage or they didn’t like the design. Is there still a number of New York and Seattle Christmas You Are Here mugs produced, sitting in the Starbucks storage?… Read more
