You Are Here Ornament – Wrocław

You Are Here Ornament Wrocław is the last one from Poland, but not the last in this series of mini mugs for now.

Wrocław is one of Poland’s oldest and most picturesque cities, with a history shaped by shifting borders, trade, and cultural exchange. Located along the Oder River, it developed into an important commercial and academic center over the centuries. Its architecture reflects Gothic, Baroque, and modern influences layered across different eras. Today, Wrocław is widely regarded as a vibrant city full of character and charm.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Poznań

As promised, this is another mini mug that I got from Poland recently. You Are Here Ornament Poznań is the release for one of the oldest and most historically significant cities in the country, with roots dating back to the early Polish state in the 10th century. Located on the Warta River, it played a key role in the formation of Polish identity and later developed into an important center of trade, culture, and education. Over the centuries, Poznań blended medieval heritage with modern urban life.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Gdańsk

It took me four months to finally get the You Are Here Ornament Gdańsk, but it was well worth it. The best part is – it didn’t come alone. More on that in future posts, stay tuned.

Gdańsk is a historic port city on Poland’s Baltic coast with a past shaped by trade, maritime power, and cultural exchange. For centuries, it played a key role as a member of the Hanseatic League, linking Northern and Central Europe through commerce. Its strategic location brought both prosperity and conflict, leaving behind a rich architectural and cultural legacy.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Italia

Along with an updated mug for the capital city, Starbucks has also released a new version of the country ornament! A brand-new design was spotted in stores, and it appears to be replacing the previous one. You Are Here Ornament – Italia uses the name Italians actually use for their country. Interestingly, I haven’t seen the larger mug yet, but I’m sure it’s coming soon.

The name “Italia” has ancient roots, tracing back to the Greeks, who referred to a portion of Southern Italy as “Italói,” possibly derived from a word meaning “calf” or “young bull.” This symbol, often associated with fertility and strength, may reflect the region’s pastoral richness.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Warsaw

Just when I thought I was done with my YAH ornaments collection, a friend sent me a picture of a mini mug I didn’t recognize. It took me a second to realize – it’s a brand-new release! I even had to check the calendar to make sure it’s 2025 out there!
As you can expect, You Are Here Ornament – Warsaw is a complete copy of the bigger mug that was released back in 2018. This is a common practice for this collection.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Baku

After months of waiting, I finally got my hands on the new Starbucks You Are Here Ornament – Baku. This latest release could very well be the final addition to the beloved series, making it even more special for collectors.

I very much like the design of this new ornament. It uses a beautiful mix of light blue, pink, and green colors that feel both fresh and nostalgic. The ornament is a miniature replica of the full-sized Baku mug I reviewed previously, keeping the same iconic imagery that defines the city:

– The Fire Temple, or Ateshgah, stands proudly on the outskirts, capturing Baku’s ancient connection to fire worship.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Karlovy Vary

Three years after the release of the full-sized mug, You Are Here Ornament – Karlovy Vary is making its appearance in stores.

Karlovy Vary, also known as Carlsbad, is a spa town nestled in western Bohemia, Czech Republic. Founded in 1370 by Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, the city’s name translates to “Charles’ Boiling Water,” referencing its famous hot springs. Legend has it that Charles IV discovered the springs while on a hunting expedition, leading to the town’s establishment.

Throughout its history, Karlovy Vary has been a favored destination for European nobility, artists, and intellectuals.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Bratislava

I’ve just realized that I forgot to review this mini mug that I’ve had in my collection for a couple of months now. It is worth noting, that You Are Here Ornament – Bratislava comes out four years after the release of the bigger mug.

Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, has a rich history that spans centuries. Located at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, it has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. The city’s strategic location on the banks of the Danube River made it a significant center for commerce and politics.… Read more

You Are Here Ornament – Türkiye

Similar to the bigger mug, there is also an update for You Are Here Ornament – Türkiye. As you can see from the picture, the two ornaments are identical, except for the name. I now wonder if an updated Christmas version is something we can expect from Starbucks.

As a bonus, I included a Special Edition ornament that I have in my collection as well (the one with the red handle). It was released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, which marked a century since its establishment on October 29, 1923.… Read more
