You Are Here Ornament – Bahrain

Arabian Peninsula scores again with Starbucks You Are Here Ornament – Bahrain. The Kingdom of Bahrain is an archipelago in the Persian Gulf which originally consisted of 33 islands, but due to land reclamation from the sea, this number is more than doubled now (although, islands that have been added are pretty small). There are not that many stores, around 30 actually, yet the ornament has been released and I am sure many collectors will be more than happy to add it to their stash.… Read more

Been There – México

Mexican BT mugs are finally making their appearance here. There are 26 in total and I would like to start with, Starbucks Been There – Mexico mug. It is designed using shades of green and yellow. Green, white and red are the colors of the National Flag. There is no official meaning of the colors, however, through the years they had the following symbolism:
– Green: independence (from Spain); Hope;
– White: religion (the Roman Catholic); Unity;
– Red: union (Europe and America); Blood of the national heroes;

Here are some symbols and points of interest from Mexico that can be seen on the mug:
– El Castillo (Temple of Kukulcan) a must-visit part of Chichen Itza, a pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people.… Read more

Been There – Philippines

BT Collection is making a spectacular appearance to Republika ng Pilipinas with seventeen mugs and four ornaments! And yes, Been There – Philippines is the first one in the list. Are you ready for that?
Here are some key elements from the front of the mug. Big thanks to a local reader, who provided the list:
– Coconut Tree (1) – the Philippines is one of the world’s largest producers of coconuts and related products. Pretty much every part of the tree can be used for something, from the top of its leaves to the bottom of its roots and surely the fruit itself.… Read more

Been There Ornament – Korea

Starbucks Been There Ornament – Korea started appearing in stores along with the regular size mug, as expected. I am also seeing a similar amount of points of interest on the front and the back of the mini mug, which is not always the case with this series. We’re yet to see all the sides to confirm if there are elements unique to the ornament. The string is green, as is the inside of the mug.

Been There – Korea

Been There collection is expanding pretty fast now. It is becoming obvious that 2020 is a big year for Asia. Been There – Korea mug is a brand new example of that. This release is interesting in a sense that there were no YAH mugs for Korea. Starbucks did have very similar mugs by size, but different design, not related to YAH. I kind of liked those, but still wished for more.
Anyway, here are some highlights of Been There – Korea:
– Hahoetal mask – is a mask used in one of Korea’s most traditional folk plays featuring various characters – Hahoe Tal Chum (Hahoe Mask Dance Drama).… Read more

You Are Here – Kuwait National Day 2020

Starbucks You Are Here – Kuwait National Day 2020 is the third Middle Eastern mug dedicated to National Holidays. As a reminder, YAE and KSA National Day editions were released last year and I didn’t expect similar mugs from Starbucks anymore.
The design of this new release resembles the design of the regular Kuwait YAH, but with green and red colors prevailing. The skylines on the fronts of the mugs are not identical though. If you take a closer look, you can see the following changes:
– Al Hamra Tower (1,358 ft, the tallest building in Kuwait) – has been moved from the center to the right, replacing Mushroom Towers.… Read more
