It seems that the capital of Great Britain had a special place in the hearts of Starbucks designers, because the You Are Here London Gold Outline is yet another prototype created for the city that unfortunately never reached store shelves. This example appears to be exceptionally rare and could very well be a one-of-a-kind surviving piece. You Are Here Christmas – London Gold on Black

The You Are Here Christmas London Gold on Black is another very interesting unreleased Holiday Edition mug for the capital of the UK. This prototype uses a striking matte black exterior with metallic gold artwork and lettering, giving the familiar You Are Here design a much more elegant and festive appearance. Based on the sticker on the bottom, it was probably planned for the 2017 holiday season, but unfortunately never made it to stores. Interestingly, Starbucks later used a very similar black-and-gold color combination for the Pike Place mugs later, so the idea clearly was not abandoned completely.… Read more

The You Are Here Christmas – London Speckle Debossed mug is a fascinating prototype from a private collection, and it is currently being offered for sale. That makes this a rare opportunity to acquire a truly unique piece of Starbucks memorabilia, especially since this version never made it to store shelves. You Are Here Christmas 2020 Glass Mugs

For some reason, I was hesitant to add this trio of Holiday mugs from the 2020 Christmas season to the site but decided that it actually makes sense to include them in the collection. In fact, there was no fair reason to not compare them to previous releases:
– they do belong to the “You Are Here Collection” and the boxes they come in look like other Christmas YAH boxes (see the pics below)
– their design is a revision of the respective city Christmas mugs from the previous years (see the comparison for Paris, London, and Amsterdam)
– there were no other Holiday mugs released for these cities at the same time
– these are 14oz mugs, the same size as other YAHs (see the photo of the bottom of the mug)
It’s worth noting, however, that even though they can be stacked with other YAHs, they are shorter (again see a comparison picture below).… Read more

You Are Here Christmas Glass – London

You Are Here Christmas Glass London mug is very similar in terms of the design to YAH Christmas London v2, that was released three years ago (2017). The comparison picture below shows that apart from being made of glass the new mug brings rearranged points of interest from the city. Some were moved and seem to be reduced in size, others were altered, e.g. the Christmas tree replaced the regular-looking tree.

We’re finally getting real photos of second versions of Christmas YAHs from last year as You Are Here Christmas London was spotted today on eBay. As I told earlier, lines are solid instead of dotted and I don’t really see any other difference. Well, lines alone make it “different” and valuable for collectors.
