Starbucks has unexpectedly introduced a festive new addition for collectors this holiday season – Discovery Series Glass Ornaments. While I don’t personally collect these, I thought it was worth sharing the news, especially since this release connects directly to the already popular Discovery Series mugs. The company released similar ornaments before, most notably with the glass versions inspired by the Been There series. Been There Star Wars Ornaments

What a surprise! Apart from the three new Star Wars mugs that were announced this Monday, Starbucks shocked collectors with the release of not less than 12 Star Wars ornaments! They were available online for a very short period of time before being marked as sold out! Unfortunately, I was not able to get them, and really hope these will be restocked. I will be monitoring Disney Store from now on, stay tuned for the alerts. Btw, it seems there is plenty of stock in WDW parks.… Read more

Been There Ornaments – country of origin

Not sure how important this information will be for most collectors, however, I feel obligated to bring this new interesting fact to your attention. If you collected Been There Ornaments from the very beginning, you probably noticed that all the US and Canada ornaments have a “Made in Thailand” label on the bottom. It was different, however, for some ornaments from Asia, like the Philippines, these were made in China. For instance, you can see Pennsylvania and Philippines ornaments side by side at the very top of the collage.… Read more
