You Are Here Ornament – Switzerland

Here is the second mini mug from the recent weekend release. Starbucks You Are Here Ornament Switzerland is a colorful representative of this adorable series and has everything this country is famous for: cheese, chocolate, watch, lakes, and mountains. And for the latter, designers specifically depicted the Matterhorn, a pyramidal peak between Italy and Switzerland. The four steep faces, rising above the surrounding glaciers, face the four compass points and are split by the Hörnli, Furggen, Leone/Lion, and Zmutt ridges. As for the bear (on the back of the mug), this is probably related to Bern, “city of Bears”.… Read more

You Are Here Christmas – Switzerland

Starbucks You Are Here Christmas Switzerland has been revealed right after its smaller brother. It has exactly the same design, but is bigger in size. The box is supposed to be black (or dark grey) as well. We can only speculate now about all European (and maybe Asian) countries getting Christmas editions for YAH mugs. As usual, as soon as I get any news, will post them here.… Read more

You Are Here – Switzerland

We only had Zurich from this “square flag country” and voila, two new mugs has been released this October.
Please welcome You Are Here Switzerland. This is a very colorful mug and we can see blue mountains, green highlands, Swiss watch and a cow (for Swiss cheese?)
Did you know,
– Switzerland has four national languages: French, German, Italian and Rhaeto-Romantsch (with Latin roots). English is increasingly popular – 60 percent of the population are proficient in English.
– The Swiss eat 11kg of chocolate per person per year more than any other nation in the world.… Read more

Discovery Series Disney – Disneyland Park

It all started with Discovery Series Disney – Disneyland Park it seems. It was the first mug from the new series that was spotted earlier this week. Here are the symbols and attractions from the park that inspired the Starbucks designers:
– Sleeping Beauty Castle, standing majestically at the heart of Disneyland, is a symbol of enchantment and magic. Inspired by the fairy tale and Disney’s iconic animated film, the castle serves as the centerpiece of the park, welcoming visitors to a realm of imagination and wonder.… Read more

You Are Here – Annecy

The latest release from this summer’s French trio is Starbucks You Are Here Annecy mug. Similar to the Metz mug, this one has a very nice design, featuring bright colors. I am happy to see that Starbucks still values the appeal even though these seem to be one of the last mugs from this collection.

Nestled within the heart of the French Alps (near the borders of Switzerland and Italy), Annecy is a picturesque city that effortlessly combines history, culture, and natural splendor.… Read more

You Are Here – Bern

Starbucks You Are Here – Bern is another Swiss mug released in January 2020. Bern (or Berne, as seen on Icon mug) is the capital of the country, but it was only released after Geneva, Lucerne, and Zurich.
Apart from cheese and mountains, which Switzerland is famous for, I am seeing the following points of interest on the mug:
– The Kornhausbrücke – a stone and iron bridge over Aare river. Btw, not seen on the mug but worth mentioning is the Untertorbrücke (German: Lower Gate Bridge) – an arch bridge built in wood in 1255 and then rebuilt in stone in 1461.… Read more

You Are Here – Basel

Starbucks You Are Here – Basel was released almost a month ago and I am finally adding it to the list.
Basel is the third most populous city in Switzerland and is located on the border with two other European countries – Germany and France. Interestingly enough, some of Basel’s suburbs are located outside of the country. Switzerland is a member of the Schengen Area so no passport check is required when crossing the border from France or Germany, however, since it is not a member of the EU, you have to declare any goods you bring in.… Read more
